1 Samuel 12:24 “Only fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things He has done for you.” The fear of the Lord, if you grew up in the church you always heard that phrase and knew that you were supposed to have a healthy fear and respect Him. But I don’t think that I truly grasped the importance of fearing the Lord until late. We were doing a bible study on hearing from the Lord and one of the main points was on fearing the Lord first. Then is when it clicked that fearing the Lord was the building block of everything else. For wisdom, guidance, peace and much more your faith needs to be built on fearing the lord which goes along with trusting Him. It should be easy like it says look at all the great things He has done for you. Just the fact that you can read this without having to remember to make your eyes work the fact that you are breathing without thinking about it shows how much in control God is of our lives. So then why would we be a

2 Chronicles 31:21 “ And every word that he undertook in the service of the house of God and in accordance with the law and the commandments, seeking his God, he did with all his heart, and prospered.” This verse has me convicted because I know that I don’t do everything with my heart meaning to honor God. A lot of the time I will do something to just finish it and move on. But when I read this that’s not the case everything we do should be honoring to God and to see it as an act of worship even if it doesn’t feel like. Just even writing this at the beginning when I was trying to find a passage to write on I wanted to just find one quickly so I could write it and be done. That wasn’t a heart that is honoring to God. Even when I found this passage in what I read this morning and I was getting ready to write a little paragraph and be done my computer started glitching. That is when I realized that my heart wasn’t in the right place. So this verse is a good reminder that I need to go

IBS field time week 5 2 Chronicles 26:5 “He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God, and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.” It is so important to seek the Lord in all that we do, and we see here that when we do this God wants to bless us and provide for us. But what this isn’t saying is that we won’t have trials. If you read farther into the chapter you will see that he had to go into wars and battles. When you are in war it is a stressful situation and will cause pain from losing men in battle to trying to figure out how to win. Or in a different way when life gets tuff and it feels like you are during a battle it can be tiring physically and emotionally. But in the midst of the pain when we keep pressing into the Lord and reading His word and diligently seeking after Him we can have a peace that God wants us to prosper and His Will will be accomplished. And when the battle ends no matter what the outcome is we ca

IBS field time week 4 Psalm 100:1 “ Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!” This is such a simple verse but something so small that often times we forget to do. Praise Him however that looks for you. God deserves all the glory and the praise. No matter what the situation if you take a step back and praise God it can help give you a peace and remember that you are not doing this alone but are in a community of believers and most importantly you have God right there whenever you need Him. It’s very easy to praise Him when things go great, but what about when your computer breaks or your stressed out. That’s especially when we need to praise God for what we e have and what He has done and will do no matter the outcome. I know that my first reaction is not to praise the Lord but to question Him and get annoyed but that’s not where my heart should be. I should be praising Him in everything even when I don’t feel like it. Application: I will look up 2 passages about praisi

IBS field time week 3 2 Chronicles 19:7 “Now then, let the fear of the Lord be upon you. Be careful what you do, for there is no injustice with the Lord our God, or partiality or taking bribes.” This is such an important verse because we truly do need to be careful about what we do. This goes even farther than our immediate actions, but what we watch or listen to. Because eventually they are going to start affecting our thoughts and our hearts no matter how hard we try for them to not. The worst part of all is that no matter how hard you try God knows and alabe knows about everything. So there is no trying to hide from Him. What is great about this passage is that it brings about the importance of remembering that God is just in all that He does and all the time. At the same time He is one hundred percent good. He can’t be any less of one of His attributes or else it wouldn’t make Him God. That just gives me such a joy because it shows that He is so much greater than any human an
