Obadiah 1:3-4 “You have been deceived by your own pride because you live in a rock fortress and make your home high in the mountains. ‘ Who can ever reach us way up here?’ you ask boastfully. But even if you soar as high as eales and build your nest among the stars, I will bring you crashing down,” says the Lord. This verse at first glance can seem very harsh, and make you not agree with God’s actions. But the more you look at it you see the beauty that lies behind those words. God here is disciplining you because of your pride, and whenever you get disciplined it’s going to sting. But if God didn’t love you as His own child He wouldn’t see the need to discipline you. God loves us so much that here He is saving us from ourselves, because He knows that if He just lets us keep going on that path we are on it will end in self destruction.
