Philippians 3:8 " Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ."

Wow that is a humbling statement that everything is worthless compared to knowing Christ. How often do we not truly sit down to take the time to actually know and acknowledge the power and value that Christ is Lord and that He is all powerful. I know that for myself I get into the habit of thinking that what is going on is too much for God but that's completely wrong and I have been praying to see that God is all powerful and now when ever I have the thoughts that diminish Gods value I instantly get convicted, and He is showing me more and more every day how powerful He truly is, my thoughts are now starting to change to those honoring the Lords true value. Also its crazy how much God cares for us and wants a relationship with us and how far He will go to reach us. We just need to see or get to the point of brokenness to understand and experience that everything else in life is pointless and will only bring pain except for Christ Himself. When we realize that everything is worthless we can come to terms with sacrificing what God is calling us to give to Him because we know that what God has for us is greater then the things He's asking us to surrender over to Him.

Matthew 8:9-10 “I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, “Go,” and they go, or “Come,” and they come. And if I say to my slaves, “Do this,” they do it. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “ I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel! “ (NLT) Reading this I get convicted because in the past there has been times where I heard God say go but I chose not to because it would have been out of my comfort zone. Even now there are still times where I question Gods decisions but I know thats not what He wants for me, so little by little I have been trying to trust when God says go and I go. For instence when I heard the call to go to Ignite and said yes to the Lord, that decision has helped me grow deeper in my faith with Him. Matthew 5:45 “So that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” I never gave this verse much thought, yes I was taught to always be thankful for the little things. But when I took a closer look to this passage it made me even more grateful. For me I always knew the sun would rise and set with everyday, that’s what is has done all of my life so why would it be any different? God doesn’t have to make the sun rise and set, He can make it stand still like in the book of Joshua. But even though we aren’t grateful He still allows this. This is a picture of God's grace because we need the sun for plants to grow and without the sun we could not survive very long, because we would run out of nutritious food.
