IBS week 8

John 15:15 "I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn't confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me."

Reading this makes me want to serve the Lord more and more out of love. What high king would have friends such as us, and choose to not call us his slaves. He could have any friends he would like but He chose us. This shows just how trustworthy the Lord is. We can confide in Him with whatever we are going through and we can trust that He is there listening and wanting to help. For me I'm learning that I don't trust the Lord as much as I thought I did and just seeing this helps me learn to trust more and more each day. It's also really amazing to know that we are told what God in heaven is telling Jesus. He wants a relationship with us not just a one sided prayer life, but a true relationship where we can confide everything to Him. God is working on me to keep my walls down when it comes to going deeper with Him. So that I am able to have that deep relationship with Him without any trace of fear.

Application:
I will write 3 reasons why I can trust the Lord tonight.

John 12:26 "Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me." How honored would we be to be servants of the one true God. And we are, He chose us to be His servants, that's such a blessing and an honor. IBS Week 1

Matthew 8:9-10 “I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, “Go,” and they go, or “Come,” and they come. And if I say to my slaves, “Do this,” they do it. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “ I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel! “ (NLT) Reading this I get convicted because in the past there has been times where I heard God say go but I chose not to because it would have been out of my comfort zone. Even now there are still times where I question Gods decisions but I know thats not what He wants for me, so little by little I have been trying to trust when God says go and I go. For instence when I heard the call to go to Ignite and said yes to the Lord, that decision has helped me grow deeper in my faith with Him. Matthew 5:45 “So that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” I never gave this verse much thought, yes I was taught to always be thankful for the little things. But when I took a closer look to this passage it made me even more grateful. For me I always knew the sun would rise and set with everyday, that’s what is has done all of my life so why would it be any different? God doesn’t have to make the sun rise and set, He can make it stand still like in the book of Joshua. But even though we aren’t grateful He still allows this. This is a picture of God's grace because we need the sun for plants to grow and without the sun we could not survive very long, because we would run out of nutritious food.
