IBS week 3

Ephisians 5:15-17 “ So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.”
It is very easy to get into the routine of not realy thinking about our actions, and what they mean. To just fall into a routine of not being bad but not being the best either, and not making the most of each day. When we do this we could miss out on many opportunitys that the Lord has put in our lives. When our eyes are not focused on the Lord but of the world we start to act up and then think that the Lord is not speaking to us. When in reality God has provided many opportunities for us and we just walked right by them without a blink of an eye. God wants us to understand His will for our lives and to do this we need to be focoused more on Him daily. Which is not always easy and takes constant focous on growing with the Lord. Before I came to Ignite I would read the bible here and there but would not get much or any out of what I read but it was more of a check off list of okay I did that and now I can go on with my day. But since being here  God has been showing me that He wants all my life, not just part and for me to keep reading the bible and pressing into Him everyday even if I don’t hear from Him at the moment. Because God is good and dosn’t want me to miss the opportunitys He has put in my life He has put the desire for me to grow deeper in my walk with Him.

Application:

  • Today I will read my bible at least three times.

John 12:26 "Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me." How honored would we be to be servants of the one true God. And we are, He chose us to be His servants, that's such a blessing and an honor. IBS Week 1

Matthew 8:9-10 “I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, “Go,” and they go, or “Come,” and they come. And if I say to my slaves, “Do this,” they do it. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “ I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel! “ (NLT) Reading this I get convicted because in the past there has been times where I heard God say go but I chose not to because it would have been out of my comfort zone. Even now there are still times where I question Gods decisions but I know thats not what He wants for me, so little by little I have been trying to trust when God says go and I go. For instence when I heard the call to go to Ignite and said yes to the Lord, that decision has helped me grow deeper in my faith with Him. Matthew 5:45 “So that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” I never gave this verse much thought, yes I was taught to always be thankful for the little things. But when I took a closer look to this passage it made me even more grateful. For me I always knew the sun would rise and set with everyday, that’s what is has done all of my life so why would it be any different? God doesn’t have to make the sun rise and set, He can make it stand still like in the book of Joshua. But even though we aren’t grateful He still allows this. This is a picture of God's grace because we need the sun for plants to grow and without the sun we could not survive very long, because we would run out of nutritious food.
