IBS week 3

Psalm 111:10  “ Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever!”  (NLT)

“The  fear of the Lord is the begining of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.” (NKJ)
How do we obey the Lord? Obeying the Lord could be responding to the Holy Spirit when He convicts us of something or tells us to do something and we then do it. Where disobeying could be rejecting the Holy Spirt which is just trying to comfort us and give us counsle. Also following the world and not what the Lord calls us to do. When we disobey the Lord we don’t give ourselves the chance to recieve the wisdom the Lord is so willing to give out. This past couple of weeks I’ve been struggling to give God the full control of my life, I Iike to think that I have some sort of controll,  and because of not fully surrendering and obeying God. I could have missed out on reciving some wisodm from Him at that time where now I have to wait. It has been an every day thing of surrendering my ”controll” to the Lord and just trustong that He has a will and that I will recive wisdom in Gods timing and not to worry about it. God wants to give us a heart for wisdom because then we will live out His will here on Earth and bring glory to His name.
Application:

  • I will continue surrendiering my need for controll to the Lord everd day for the next week.

How honored would we be to be servants of the one true God. And we are, He chose us to be His servants, that's such a blessing and an honor. IBS Week 1

Matthew 8:9-10 “I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, “Go,” and they go, or “Come,” and they come. And if I say to my slaves, “Do this,” they do it. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “ I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel! “ (NLT) Reading this I get convicted because in the past there has been times where I heard God say go but I chose not to because it would have been out of my comfort zone. Even now there are still times where I question Gods decisions but I know thats not what He wants for me, so little by little I have been trying to trust when God says go and I go. For instence when I heard the call to go to Ignite and said yes to the Lord, that decision has helped me grow deeper in my faith with Him. Matthew 5:45 “So that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” I never gave this verse much thought, yes I was taught to always be thankful for the little things. But when I took a closer look to this passage it made me even more grateful. For me I always knew the sun would rise and set with everyday, that’s what is has done all of my life so why would it be any different? God doesn’t have to make the sun rise and set, He can make it stand still like in the book of Joshua. But even though we aren’t grateful He still allows this. This is a picture of God's grace because we need the sun for plants to grow and without the sun we could not survive very long, because we would run out of nutritious food.
