IBS week 3

James 3:13-17   “Who  is wise and understanding amoung you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the  meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, denomic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and wothout hypocrisy.”

Im sitting here asking God for wisdom on how to write this IBS, on a passage about wisdom. How often do we ask God for wisdom without truley knowing what wisdom means?  We just want to have knowledge about certain things, recieve the answer and then move on. Where wisdom is more than just thoughts it is also actions, and a change of heart. That could be a reason why when we ask God for wisdom on certain things and we think God is with holding it, it could be because He knows that our hearts are not in the right place and that we have alternative motives if we got the piece of wisdom. Which could make you hearden your heart towards God and put a divide in your relationship with Him. Where in reality He is trying to protect you from yourself. God trys to protect us from ourselfs because He wants the best for us and dosn’t want to see us stray from Him. When we think that God isn’t giving us wisdom that should be a clue that maybe your heart isn’t in the right place and should pray about having your heart be changed first and then look back at your motives for the wisdom you were asking. Wisdom is deeper thanyou think and striving for wisdom could change your perspective and see more through Gods eyes.

Application:
  • I will write down my prayers in a journal and see how God answers them for the next 3 days.
