IBS week 1

Luke 8:22-25 “ One day Jesus said to his disciples,” Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and srarted out. As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap. But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water, and they were in real danger. The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” When Jesus woke up, he rebucked the wind and the reaging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm. Then he asked them, “ Where is your faith?” The discipes were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a comand, even the wind and waves obey him!”
This shows that God knows what is going to happen when we follow HIm, He dosnt promise that it will always be easy but He is always there, and we know that He has a plan no matter what. Even if it seems like He is being silent or in case of this passage taking a nap. God is still watching over us. Why is it that the second things start getting tough we start questioning and calling out to God like He dosnt know what is happening. He is there with us and wants us to just have a speck of faith in Him that He will work things out in the end. An experience I have with this is that where my knee got kicked dead on by another horse. At first I thought I was fine but then the pain went through my leg and I could barley walk. I was worried I would be out for the rest of the season, I had to look towards God even though I had no clue what would happen but then a couple of weeks later I could walk normal again and was fine. God knew what was going to happen even though I didnt, and was doubting His faith fullness. It is easy to start doubting God, but at the same time He has showed us more reasin why to trust HIm than not.
Application:

  • I will reflect on my day and write about how God provided.

John 12:26 "Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me." How honored would we be to be servants of the one true God. And we are, He chose us to be His servants, that's such a blessing and an honor. IBS Week 1

Matthew 8:9-10 “I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, “Go,” and they go, or “Come,” and they come. And if I say to my slaves, “Do this,” they do it. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “ I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel! “ (NLT) Reading this I get convicted because in the past there has been times where I heard God say go but I chose not to because it would have been out of my comfort zone. Even now there are still times where I question Gods decisions but I know thats not what He wants for me, so little by little I have been trying to trust when God says go and I go. For instence when I heard the call to go to Ignite and said yes to the Lord, that decision has helped me grow deeper in my faith with Him. I want to keep growing in that faith so that there is not even an ounce of doubt left in my mind for t

Matthew 5:45 “So that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” I never gave this verse much thought, yes I was taught to always be thankful for the little things. But when I took a closer look to this passage it made me even more grateful. For me I always knew the sun would rise and set with everyday, that’s what is has done all of my life so why would it be any different? God doesn’t have to make the sun rise and set, He can make it stand still like in the book of Joshua. But even though we aren’t grateful He still allows this. This is a picture of God's grace because we need the sun for plants to grow and without the sun we could not survive very long, because we would run out of nutritious food.
