Ephesians 6:1 and Colossians 3:20 " Children, obey you parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord."

This seems like such a simple verse that would be so easy to follow. In reality its not as easy as it seems. So often we fight tooth and nail with our parents over the stupidest things, and the conflict only leads to punishment and separation in your relationship. I see this verse as God not only asking us to obey our parents but to obey Him at the same time, because He put them in authority over us on purpose, and we need to respect that. Also when we learn to respect and obey our earthly parents its easier to trust and obey God our heavenly father. When we so simply respond to what our parents are asking of us with a good attitude it brings Gods joy, how simple is that to please the Lord, just obey. When I was growing up my parents were strict, and my brothers and I would fight against their rules, which caused a lot of pain in our family. But when we grew up some it was easy to see the why behind them being so strict because we saw the other side of the fence with our half brother not having any rules or being asked to do anything that wasn't for himself which has lead to not hearing from him in many years. So we learned to respect our parents more and obey them with that of a better attitude. I'm not saying that we figured it all out and that our family is perfect, because its definitely not, were all human and Gods still working on us.

Application:
Pray that my half brother will find the Lord and his relation ship with our family will be mended.
