IBS field time week 5
2 Chronicles 26:5 “He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God, and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.”
It is so important to seek the Lord in all that we do, and we see here that when we do this God wants to bless us and provide for us. But what this isn’t saying is that we won’t have trials. If you read farther into the chapter you will see that he had to go into wars and battles. When you are in war it is a stressful situation and will cause pain from losing men in battle to trying to figure out how to win. Or in a different way when life gets tuff and it feels like you are during a battle it can be tiring physically and emotionally. But in the midst of the pain when we keep pressing into the Lord and reading His word and diligently seeking after Him we can have a peace that God wants us to prosper and His Will will be accomplished. And when the battle ends no matter what the outcome is we can rest in Him because if we tried our hardest and kept our hearts set on Him that was the outcome which was supposed to happen. For me I have a hard time remembering to constantly seek after the Lord but since being here I have seen the importance of constantly being in His presence because otherwise your attitude can go completely down the drain and you look back and realize where you went wrong.

Application:

I will read my bible again at night before bed so that I have sought His word more than at church and in my devotionals.

Philippians 3:8 " Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ." Wow that is a humbling statement that everything is worthless compared to knowing Christ. How often do we not truly sit down to take the time to actually know and acknowledge the power and value that Christ is Lord and that He is all powerful. I know that for myself I get into the habit of thinking that what is going on is too much for God but that's completely wrong and I have been praying to see that God is all powerful and now when ever I have the thoughts that diminish Gods value I instantly get convicted, and He is showing me more and more every day how powerful He truly is, my thoughts are now starting to change to those honoring the Lords true value. Week 5

Luke 3:14 "What should we do?' asked some soldiers. John replied, 'Don't extort money or make false accusations. and be content with your pay." I know for myself I'm always looking for the next job that will pay me more then my current one. Which I don't see as bad, its more that if the money becomes a god to you and that is the only thing you are focused on, not whether if this is where God actually wants you for that time. When being focused on money turns to something holding you back from what God is truly wanting for you is when you need to take a step back and look at your true priority's. For me God has always provided the next job at the right time with the right pay. Even though I would stress about needing more money especially for coming to IGNITE, I knew God had a plan and would provide like He has in the past.
